The Colin Campbell Glacier is a glacier in the Waitaha / Canterbury region of the Te Waipounamu / South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand.

It has a latitude of -43.331515 and a longitude of  170.741459 and it’s status is: Official Assigned.

Name submitted by Alwyn Chinn to confirm names for a “Map of Main Divide between Arthurs Pass and Mount Cook National Parks” published with the NZAC Journal.

Name in current use, shown on Canterbury Mountaineering Club and other mountaineering maps of the area. The name was first given to this glacier by J B Acland when he set foot on it in 1863. The glacier was first traversed by A K Wilson in 1933 and he submitted the name Helen Glacier.

This name never found favour or use, and the name reverted to Colin Campbell in 1963. Field Marshall Sir Colin Campbell, later Baron Clyde, was a British soldier, famous for his victories in the Indian Mutiny of 1857-58. The town of Clyde is also named after him. Former official name is Helen Glacier, Gaz 1948 page 939.

It’s geographical description is noted as: Tributary to the Frances Glacier at the head of the Rangitata River.
