The Middleton Snowfield is a ice feature in the Te Tai Poutini / West Coast region of the Te Waipounamu / South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand.

It has a latitude of -43.392743 and a longitude of  170.289048 and it’s status is: Official Assigned.

Named after Don Middleton who was Chief Pilot of Mt Cook Air Services. He was the first pilot to land on the ski field when dropping off a party to do some climbing, he crash landed on the snowfield. For further info refer NZAJ, 1963, Volume 20, No 50. p111.

It’s geographical description is noted as: Snowfield on Mount Downes in Tatare Range. Feature shown on: NZMS260 I35 Edition 1 1993 Limited Revision 1996.
