The Lucas Glacier is a glacier in the Ōtākou / Otago region of the Te Waipounamu / South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand.

It has a latitude of -44.384269 and a longitude of  168.785114 and it’s status is: Official Assigned.

Name submitted by Mr Paul Powell of Dunedin, for inclusion on maps in a book “Men Aspiring” that he had written. Mr Powell had a 24 year association with the area. The glacier is named after Mr F Lucas of Southern Scenic Air Services, who pioneered airdropping to alpine climbers and Government deershooters in the post World War 2 period, and had been prominent in search and rescue flying.

It’s geographical description is noted as: Glacier on the south-eastern aspect of main divide from Moncrieff Peak to Rainbow Col.  Mount Pollux and Matukituki Survey Districts.
