The Ballium Snowfield is a ice feature in the Waitaha / Canterbury region of the Te Waipounamu / South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand.

It has a latitude of -43.490093 and a longitude of  170.592003 and it’s status is: Official Assigned.

Name submitted by well known Canterbury mountaineer Edgar R Williams in June 1967. The name was suggested as it had the appearance to him of a ballium of a castle.

It’s geographical description is noted as: Snowfield on the western side of the northern Sibbald Range, between Mount Earle and Mount Forbes.  Block IX Torlesse and Block III Godley Survey District.
